CoolSculpting® FAQs

CoolSculpting® is a non-invasive body contouring treatment designed to reduce stubborn pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. It uses controlled cooling technology to target and eliminate fat cells, helping sculpt and define areas such as the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, and chin.

CoolSculpting® uses a process called cryolipolysis, which freezes and damages fat cells beneath the skin without harming surrounding tissue. The body naturally processes and eliminates the treated fat cells over time, resulting in a more contoured appearance.

During your appointment, your provider will evaluate your goals and create a customized treatment plan. The treatment area is marked, and a CoolSculpting® applicator is applied to deliver controlled cooling. Sessions typically last 35–75 minutes, and most patients can relax comfortably during treatment.

Results gradually appear as your body eliminates treated fat cells. Many patients begin noticing changes within a few weeks, with optimal results typically visible around 2–3 months after treatment.

CoolSculpting® requires little to no downtime, and most patients return to their normal activities immediately after treatment. Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, tingling, or numbness may occur and typically improves over time.
